There are many things that are essential to our culture such as movies, politics, sports, religion, fashion, and food. Jewelry is a part of the fashion industry which makes sense because clothes need to be correctly accessorized with the perfect piece of jewelry for either work or for play.

It may not be surprising that jewelry is a part of the fashion industry but it may surprise jewelry lovers that religion and jewelry often go together quite nicely. In fact Jewish religious jewelry represents Judaism just as crosses represent the Christian faith. Jewish religious jewelry has been around for a long time.

There are many symbols and things that are both an important and an essential part or ingredient in any culture such as movies, sports, politics, religion, food, and fashion. In fact in some cultures such as in the United States people are taught that they shouldn’t discuss religion, sports, or politics at the dinner table or at dinner party. This is due to the fact that these three topics seem to be “hot button” topics that could cause reasonable peaceful people to become argumentative and hostile. However, it is okay to discuss fashion, jewelry, and religion at the dinner table and at dinner parties. Moreover, it is okay to discuss religion and jewelry at any location for that matter. This is because jewelry in general and jewelry of faith or religious jewelry often do become a topic at the dinner table and at dinner parties. This is because both women and men enjoy discussing where and why they purchased a particular piece of jewelry especially jewelry of faith or religious jewelry. It seems as if people who wear religious jewelry have great ties to a particular religion or just find pleasure in what a religious piece of jewelry symbolizes.

In addition, a person might wear a piece of religious jewelry even if they aren’t particularly religious; for example a person might wear a sand dollar necklace because sand dollars remind him or her of the beach and not Christianity. In addition, both Jews and Christians often wear a piece of dove jewelry because doves represent peace and both Jews and Christians want peace. In addition, jewelry lovers will often wear some type of cross if they are Christian and a Jewish Star or Star of David if they are Jewish. In fact, it seems to be correct to claim that Christian jewelry represents Christianity and Jewish religious jewelry represents Judaism.

Did you know that the Star of David is the most recognized Jewish symbol? Did you also know that the Star of David was used during Roman times? The Star of David is the equivalent of wearing a cross if you are Christian. Another interesting fact involving Jewish religious jewelry is that the color blue especially light blue is used much in creating Jewish religious jewelry. This is because Jewish people believe that the color blue will project them against the evil eye and harm. In addition, much Jewish religious jewelry is created from sapphires and abalone because the color blue is beautiful and Judaism is a beautiful religion. It is also important to know that in the Jewish culture jewelry has played an important role since biblical times. In fact, there are references in the bible to the custom of wearing jewelry both as a decoration and as a symbol of religious faith. Therefore, Jewish religious jewelry represents Judaism.
